M2p - Remote Controlled voltage Amplifier

Description

The M2p is a generic voltage amplifier for the SPI rack. It is based on the M2n, a module designed for the IVVI rack. It offers remote control via its Python module, while keeping the option for manual control available with the M2n. Therefore the M2p can be operated in two modes:

  • locally controlled, setting the gain and coupling mode through the front panel switches.

  • remote controlled, setting the gain and coupling mode via software. This will override the locally-given settings. When working in remote mode it is usually safest to keep the local settings at coupling 'AC' and gain 1. The remote control can override these as needed.

  • A LED on the front panel indicates which mode is currently set.

The M2p has identical specs to the M2n. It is JFET-based and provides excellent noise performance - low broadband voltage noise, low 1/F voltage noise and low dc drift.
