QT designed instrumentation -modules-S5-

S5, Dual fibre pulse-receiver
(picture of prototype front)
This module generates 2 pulses (up to 4ns rise/fall, 1V in 50 ohm) according to fibre coupled signals
send via a commercial line-powered pulseunit. Amplitudes (pos<>zero<>neg) can be controlled via voltages from the iso-amps or biasdacs.
As a result a battery-powered low noise pulser is created in which the timing can be controlled by the commercial pulser
and the amplitude can be set by the biasdacs or modulated (lock-in) via the iso-amps
The pulse outputs can be combined via short (<25cm) SMA coax cables and a SMA-tee (see measurement below).

A fibre emitter (BNC/SMA) can be connected to every commercial generator capable of generating at least 0..+3V in 50ohm. The emitter is powered by the signal itself. The emitters have a FSMA fibre output.
